All staff and residents must be informed to expect the carepacks so that there is no misunderstanding when carepacks start arriving for your residents. We recommend collecting the carepacks until you have them all and give them out together so that no one feels left out.
Post to Irish residential care facilities is FREE (up to 1kg) as per An Post’s guidelines – see their website here: https://www.anpost.com/Post-Parcels
Please be aware that we are volunteers, our only role is to give a volunteer details of where they post their carepack / card / letter.
* We have no control on the volunteer following through and honouring their promise to post. We take no responsibility for carepacks that do not arrive.
* We have no control over how early or late volunteers post their carepacks or when they will start arriving in your home. carepack.ie take no responsibility for when carepacks arrive.
* We have no control over the post and items getting lost or arriving late. carepack.ie take no responsibility for carepacks lost in the post.
* We have no control on how the carepacks are packaged or what is included – we do supply a list of recommendations on our website, please familiarise yourself with this list. carepack.ie take no responsibility for items that volunteers put in the carepacks, or items that get damaged in transit.
carepack.ie send additional gender based carepacks to every Nursing Home / Care Facility to cover new residents joining your home, and/or a volunteer forgetting to follow through on posting. Please inform all staff of this practice. Please do not return carepacks to volunteers/senders if you do not have that person/gender in residence – please instead contact us at [email protected] and we will redirect the carepack to avoid causing offence as volunteers/senders create these carepacks with great care and kindness and we would not wish to offend.
Carepacks are sent by kind individuals from all over the country, and indeed all over the world. carepack.ie does not make up the carepacks and does not send the carepacks directly and we have no responsibility or control over what is contained in the carepacks. We have a list of recommendations on our website: https://carepack.ie/frequently-asked-questions/ that we ask volunteers to stick to. Therefore we require that staff pre-check the carepacks AND/OR accompany residents when they open their carepacks to ensure all items contained within are appropriate.
carepack.ie require each home to let us know that carepacks have started to arrive for their residents. This is very important for the volunteers, so that they know their efforts are arriving at the home. Email [email protected]
carepack.ie REQUIRES acknowledgment of receipt of carepacks. Failure to do so will disqualify participation in subsequent years.
We welcome photographs of your Christmas trees with the gifts underneath. We welcome acknowledgments or thank yous for us to share with volunteers. We welcome photographs of residents with their gifts. Please do not share photographs or words of gratitude with us that we cannot share publicly on our social media and on our website. Email anything we can share publicly to [email protected]
Some volunteers may live locally or may wish to put together a carepack greater than 1kg, in this case they may hand deliver the carepacks to your facility themselves. Please ensure all staff members are aware of the campaign, including temporary staff or volunteers who may be covering holidays.
Care homes are required to identify a member of staff who will co-ordinate the carepacks for your residents on behalf of your home. This will enable a more streamlined experience for your residents. This person’s name will appear on the address also – c/o staff
Please note that once you sign up, you cannot cancel the registration. Once the residents have been entered into our system – we have no way to reverse it and we cannot change the address or any details you originally provided, etc. Please ensure you provide the correct details.
We wish you a very happy care-packing experience for 2024 and we hope you all enjoy the fun and good will from kind members of the public. It is our intention that you and your residents receive lots of lovely gifts and have a very positive carepack experience.
